Magen & Avalon Gunsolley

Avalon was almost 4 years-old when she was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. The diagnosis came after a failed attempt of playing recreational tee ball which left her devasted by her inability to understand what was happening around her. At this point, her speech and understanding were at the level of a 1 year old. Thankfully she has been surrounded by family, friends, teachers, audiologists, speech therapists and healthcare workers who tirelessly supported her as she learned speech and language. After five years, Avalon has become a beautiful child, confident in her disability with a heart to advocate for others with hearing loss.
